URGENT call to resident foreigners to defend their properties
To all EU and South American citizens who have not been able to sign the support to the popular legislative initiative to defend their properties and to be able to make use of what is rightfully theirs, they should register in their town hall by filling out this document and presenting it at the registry to be on the electoral roll.
They must do so before January 31, which is the deadline.
In this way, they will be able to elect a mayor who respects the right to property and the free use of it.
The following is a list of the resident citizens who have the right to vote.
Elections to the European Parliament
In the elections to the European Parliament, all persons residing in Spain who, without having acquired Spanish nationality, enjoy the right to vote:
- Have the status of citizens of the European Union.
- Meet the requirements to be a voter required for Spaniards.
- Enjoy the right of active suffrage in the Member State of origin.
- Have expressed their willingness to exercise the right to vote in Spain.
Municipal elections
In municipal elections, foreigners residing in Spain whose respective countries allow Spaniards to vote in such elections, under the terms of a Treaty, enjoy the right of active suffrage. At present, these countries are:
- Bolivia
- Cape Verde
- Chile
- Colombia
- Korea
- Ecuador
- Iceland
- Norway
- New Zealand
- Paraguay
- Peru
- Trinidad and Tobago
Likewise, all persons residing in Spain who, without having acquired Spanish nationality, enjoy the right of active suffrage:
- Have the condition of citizens of the European Union.
- Meet the requirements to be a voter required for Spaniards.
- Have expressed their will to exercise the right of active suffrage in Spain.
