NOTICE TO OWNERS OF FLATS IN PUERTO DE MOGÁN.
The “II Plan de Modernización, Mejora e Incremento de la Competitividad” of Playa de Mogán (PMM), is in public exhibition since last 5/02/24.
The public information will be on display for a period of TWO (2) MONTHS. The documentation may be consulted at:
Previously, the first PMM of Playa de Mogán was annulled, in 2016, by a JUDGMENT OF THE HIGH COURT OF JUSTICE OF THE CANARY ISLANDS, as it lacked an economic sustainability report (i.e. the Mogán Town Hall did not specify where it was going to get the money needed for the implementation of the plan) and for not requesting reports from other administrations.
This second PMM (2024) insists on another of the sections annulled in the 1st PMM, i.e. incompatibility of uses and the classification of large areas of the port area of Mogán for exclusive tourist use.
The PMMs are presented as a shortcut for the rapid requalification of land, urging the realisation of a tourist ghetto model, developed in the so-called third world countries, where the local population only lives with tourists to serve them.
Disguised as plans to improve old areas, in reality they are an instrument to restrict the land and convert it, with the stroke of a pen, into land for exclusive tourist use, expelling the population and altering the consolidated rights of the owners.
The model chosen is not one of integration, coexistence and conciliation of interests, which is where the general interest lies, but rather an intensive, serial, Fordist, exclusionary and segregating model for the future.
Therefore, we advise all property owners in Playa de Mogán to visit the PALT office, to inform them about the consequences of this 2nd PMM on their properties; on Thursdays 17,30-20 h and Saturdays 10,30- 13h. (C.C. Eurocenter-LOCAL 165. Avenida de Moya, 6. 35100. Playa del Inglés. San Bartolomé de Tirajana).
NOTE: All those areas that appear in dark yellow, the 2nd PMM of Playa de Mogán, classifies them as exclusive tourist use.
